PITTSBURGH, PA – On Target Mapping was honored as one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the southwestern Pennsylvania region last evening at a special awards program sponsored by the Pittsburgh High Technology Council. Selection of the Technology 50 was based on revenue growth. The dinner was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, where Mr. Nobuyuki Idei, President of the Sony Corporation, was the evening’s featured presenter.
The Pittsburgh High Technology Council’s charter is to foster the development and growth of the technology industry, promote the modernization of regional manufacturing, and encourage the effective use of technology to diversify and strengthen the regional economy. Since the Council’s founding in 1983, employment in technology-related industries in southwestern Pennsylvania has grown to 90,000 with 2,500 technology-driven companies located in the area, and 1,200 Council member firms.
Gary Schaffer, President and Founder of On Target Mapping accepted the award on behalf of the company. "It is an honor and privilege to be included with so many prestigious and successful area corporations and businesses," Schaffer stated. "The progress we've made since On Target’s founding six years ago as a small start-up mapping software developer to where we are today is truly exciting. I am equally excited about On Target’s future growth and thank the contributions of our fine staff whose continued hard work, innovative spirit, and dedication has enabled On Target to achieve this important milestone."
